Attendee Information
This is a public event ,held on private property, which is open to all. The only limitation to be aware of is that the site is not wheelchair friendly and can be uneven when walking so people with mobility issues may find it difficult to get around.
The event will be held on 19 October 2024 at "The Loo With a View" on Shannondale Springs Road in Harpers Ferry/Kabletown, WV. Click for Link to Directions:
Admission to the event is a donation to the local food pantry in the form of canned goods or dry goods. We prefer donations NOT to be in glass jars as there is potential for breakage when we get them to the food bank. There is sufficient parking on site.
There will be a BBQ Competition going on. There will be craft vendors, food vendors, and family-oriented activities including a moon bounce, Jefferson County Parks and Rec "Play Trailer" and more depending on what volunteers we can recruit to help us out. We already have a face painter lined up thanks to a local vendor.
The BBQ competitors will have food available for sale. There will also be local food trucks/trailers with a variety of food for sale. You can also bring yourself a picnic and enjoy our beautiful grounds.
There will be live music and other entertainment all day.
At 4 PM the winners of the BBQ competition as well as the PIE competition will be announced. After the awards, there will be an auction for the pies that were entered in the competition (you will get a whole pie because competitors must present 2 pies, one to be judged and one to be auctioned). Proceeds from the auction will go to the food pantry.
Be careful coming to the event. Shannondale Springs Road is only 1 lane wide, but there will be significant 2-way traffic on the road.
